I have been using the Bare Minerals makeup system for several years now. I could not ask for a better product that suits me! It is a very light makeup that feels light on your face but just adds an overall glow and accent to you. My favorite aspect of it is that it takes me all of five minutes to put on. Plus, there is no intricate application– a brush here, a brush there, and you are absolutely glowing.
The only disadvantage I would list about this product is it can be a bit pricey if you have not been a big makeup wearer in the past. Personally, I used to get whatever was on sale at Walgreens and wear that. However, for the investment, you get a full kit that looks better and feels better than any of those stores have.
The BareMinerals base foundation includes SPF 15 and is supported by the Skin Cancer Institute. The Mineral Veil is the finishing product that just makes you look “glowy” and warm. With my old makeup, if I was in a hurry, it always looked like I was putting it on sloppy. With the BareMinerals kit, even a hurried brush looks pretty darn good, if I must say so myself. It just makes me light up!
This may sound silly to some of you child-less people out there, but this stuff is completely non-toxic. Alright, my kids are a bit adventurous and like to put on mommy’s makeup sometimes. Well, when it is ALL OVER their face, I am not really concerned about their safety because the BareMinerals set is all natural ingredients. It sticks true to its namesake but keeping minerals in the ingredient list and nothing else.
Even though I am getting older, I have acne prone skin. I tend to have acne breakouts once or twice a month. The Bare Minerals set does come with a concealer that blends the redness, so the puffy redness is not noticeable. With most concealers, there is a “heaviness” problem in that it feels like you are wearing a brick on your face. The concealer, like the foundation, is light as air.
