Effective Cellulite Treatment: It’s Just Not As Simple As Cottage Cheese

With 80% of womankind trying out everything they can to rid themselves of that bunched up fat under the skin cellulite treatment could just be a national pastime of sorts. Cellulite is known by many names such as orange peel syndrome, cottage cheese skin, mattress phenomenon, and hail damage.

The best way to treat cellulite is to adopt a three pronged strategy:

  • Diet

  • Exercise

  • Specific treatment

The first two of these cellulite treatments are pretty much straightforward.

Eat a well balanced diet which is rich in fiber and antioxidants and low in salt. The lesser the fat in your diet, the lesser the chances for accumulation under the skin, or anywhere else! It is a good idea to detoxify your body while cutting down on nicotine and caffeine. Onion is a good diuretic, it helps to release excess water and cleanse your body.

Exercise, especially which is targeted towards the fat in your legs and buttocks will help build muscle and smoothen out those ugly dimples in those areas. Brisk walking, cycling or yoga - regular exercise will increase circulation which is very good for treating cellulite.

  • Now for the specific treatments for cellulite:
Try a body brush, or an exfoliator regularly to reduce cellulite. Firm yet gentle dry skin brushing before your bath every morning is especially effective.

  • Use a good cellulite cream which has ingredients like retinol, vitamin C, green tea extract, pentapeptides, coenzyme Q10 and caffeine.

  • Rubbing warm coffee grounds on the skin and then covering with a wrap for 20 minutes is another effective cellulite treatment. You just need to shower after that.

  • A brisk massage with coconut oil is also a good home remedy for cellulite.

  • Lipodissolve removes cellulite from specific locations with injections of a mixture of compounds.

  • Endermologie is another clinical treatment which uses rollers to massage the skin.

If you are looking for a treatment for cellulite you must remember that there is no permanent cure, even those given at clinics and spas. With a combination of diet, exercise and some good home remedy you could yourself manage cellulite within reasonable limits. Just remember that you need to be regular with the cellulite treatment to see results.
